Their job is to separate people from their money and some of them do it rather well. They also don’t take cash because even the most scrupulous minimum wage worker will eventually start stealing from the cause when they figure out its untraceable. But you’re absolutely correct they don’t want a $25 donation. They want $5 a month that you won’t notice on your statement and they’ll keep collecting for years to come.
